Scum line dirt should be cleaned off using Bordnet, even with your pool filled. Caution: other popularly used cleaners may cause water turbidity and sediment precipitation. Heavier than water dirt and sand sink to the pool floor and may be removed manually (using brushes connected to a suction pipe and a filter) or automatically - with the aid of an automatic pool cleaner.

In private pools add approx. 3-5% fresh water a week to dilute salts accumulated in the water as a result of oxidation and chlorination. If the filling water (usually from private wells) contains large amounts of iron, magnesium or copper, unattractive water discoloration or clouding may occur. Deal with the situation by shock chlorination* adding Chlorifix or Chloriklar, then (with sand filters) add Superflock. In case of paper filters just chlorination is enough. If you continue to observe clouding and sediment during the season, they most probably result from the high degree of water hardness containing diluted calcium and magnesium bicarbonate. The higher the degree of water hardness, the greater the risk of lime precipitation on pool sides and filtering equipment and of water clouding. In soft water the pH value is not very stable. Add Calcinex at the start of the season to lower and stabilise water hardness and to eliminate negative effects of its high degree. Read also: Problems with water.
